There is a LOT to cover here. Between the Core Set the last blog post introduced and the versatile visual addition and modular capability of these expansions the Ruined Fieldstone Sets make every dungeon master’s liquid dreams a possible reality. These are dynamic pieces. They are modular, which is a base requirement. They are fieldstone Dungeons!!!
I know I want the versatility to build dungeons that other modular sets don’t give you, because they’re made from high production manufacturing., but They’re still confining! They’re designed to be high production and low cost. They’re often poorly designed and don’t give you everything you want. So you compromise on the cost and get only part of what you want. You’re just getting started or you have a special mob boss scenario that their sets just don’t do justice to, in the confines of other modular sets.
This Ruined Fieldstone Dungeon Expansion ends much of this frustration, and my own frustration! I DM for my kids and friends too! So I intimately KNOW the struggle. And this is why you’ve landed here at The Goblin Tinker’s blog learning about my superior design!
The core set introduced the ‘inside corner’ and the 1.5”x1.5” basic footprint for a basic piece, and expands on it with lower walls, additional unique pieces, and accessories not commonly found in other dungeon sets.
The first, the major, of the three expansions includes: (40 pieces)
Twelve Corners with lower walls. (From 1”H, 3/4”H & 1/2H to 1/4”Hor 0”H. There are a variety of combinations)
Eight 2” walls with sloping ruined walls. (3/4” to 0” H)
Four 1” walls with lower sloping walls. (1/2” to 1/8”H)
And 15 Dungeon Floor Tiles! (4 1.5”x1” tiles, 5 2”x1” tiles, and 5 1”x1” square tiles, with one unique downstair tile.
The second minor expansion includes: (20 pieces)
2 Doorways without doors. (One with a round top, the other with a half round top.)
One pair of door ends. (Like bookends but for a loose door.)
One 6x6” fieldstone tile.
Fourteen ruined fieldstone floor tiles. (These tiles have irregular shapes to represent broken floors, where a room ends at a cliff or perhaps a narrow passage without walls.)
Two loose placable Doors. (One metal door, One wood Door)
The Accessories Set includes: (9 Pieces)
One arch. (3”L x 1/2”W x 2 3/4” H For between rooms or large floor areas.)
One pit. (4”x4”, With A 2.5” diameter hold)
One well (3”x2.5”, With A 1” diameter hole)
One tall stairs (2.5”L x1” W x2” H)
One short stairway (1.25”L x 1”W x 1”H)
4 square Fieldstone colums. (2.5” tall x .75” wide)
4 Columns to stand on the core set walls. (2” tall x 3/4” square)
In total it’s 69 pieces in all three expansion. I’ve organized these into a main, minor and accessories.
The major expansion provides irregular floor tiles to go with the core and major sets, that allow the layout to fill in small gaps, where required.
The minor expansion provides doors and doorways, and then a large 6x6” tile and my favorite unique pieces the ruined fieldstone tiles! These were an easy decision to include in this release because they can be played on without walls, and represent truely ruined, broken and treacherous floors!
The accessory set contains less the frequently used pieces like the arch, pit, well and columns. But when its time to doll up the dungeon with some charachter, you will want to add them! Every dungeon needs its own flair, and that’s exactly what the accessories do!
Onto the pictures!
Twelve Corners
Eight 2” long sloping walls, and Four 1” sloping walls.
The Doors, bookend door ends, 1” walls (from the core set) and Stairs.
The ruined fieldstone tiles! (11 pictured here but cones with 14)
The Irregular Floor tiles!
The 6”x6” Tile! (This was a very long time coming, and I knew every floor tile set needed a 6x6” piece for quick setup as soon as I made my first ones in the Cavern tile set. You can find the blog and pictures on this site!)
But wait, there is more…
The pit and well!
One more picture!
The Arch, Columns and Extra columns!

Gallery of more dungeon configuration close ups. Some with minis for the purpose of scale, and some with accessories from previous sets. These can be requested. However, the minis are not for sale. I managed to collect a complete set of Harbingers and won’t let those go. proud grin
